We seem to have been adopted by a wild burro! She is a female, and I'm calling her 'Jenny'. (I believe that's what they call females) I think she is outside right now as the dogs are riled up, but it's cold and I'm very tired.
I've been going out and feeding her. She seems to like bread, Jack's goat food, and dog food best. I bought some carrots for her the other day, but she wasn't impressed.
I've been able to touch her and pet her sometimes, but it's more like she is putting up with it to get some food. I also think I now have too many animals, as we go through LOTS of food and I'm getting their names mixed up!
We also have a new 'tenant' living with us. Her name is Queen Sol, and she is from Flagstaff, but works in Kingman a few days a week. So she has parked her RV here and spends a couple of nights here each week. She is totally awesome and the only problem is we don't get to hang out much.
Thanksgiving is coming up, and we will be going over to our friends' Jay & Jean's house (in Dolan) and combining cooking. Zachary will be here for it, so I'm really looking forward to it. I haven't seen him in weeks!
Things at the Homestead are going well. There are so many things to do, so many things to build! It just takes time, money, and patience.
Next month will be 2 years since we moved out here. Every once in a while, Gordy asks if I still like it out here. My answer is always YES!

Visitor!
Had a great visit from our old friend and Burner, Speeder Bill! He spent several days here and it was great to see him. He said the highlight was when Jack, the goat, saw a wasp and was curious about it. Jack finally 'sniffed' it, then threw hi head up and started scraping his mouth against the bench because he got stung! LOL It was AWESOME!!!!
Yesterday was extremely exhausting, as we had to drink copious amounts of cold beer!
Thanks for the visit Speeder Bill!

In the Beginning...
Howdy Folks!
My goal here is to create a sort of diary of our life here on our little patch of desert, in the middle of nowhere. This way, we can take a look back and see what we have accomplished.
I think at first, I'll be playing 'catch up' with the things we have already done, since our big move on December 26th, 2011. I had been posting updates on my youtube channel, but our internet is so terrible (and getting worse), that I can't even do that anymore. Supposedly, Verizon is going to upgrade our area, but they've been saying that for quite awhile.
In the meantime, here's a picture of a cow with no ears!!! At first I thought it was a victim of the Chupacabra; but I asked the local rancher, and he said the ears were eaten off by a dog. I forgot to ask what happened to the dog...
